Job description

Provide attentive, courteous service to all customers and guests at the Lodge restaurant. Serve guests, handle charging for services, and collect payments while maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor.

What You'll Do

• Greet and welcome all customers approaching the service counter
• Be knowledgeable of all menu items and beverages served, including garnish, contents, and preparation methods
• Utilize suggestive selling techniques to increase check averages
• Check guest orders prior to serving to ensure appearance, temperature, and portions are correct
• Serve guest orders promptly according to service standards
• Return as appropriate to ensure all guest needs are being met
• Receive payment for all food and beverage checks and record all charge tips and paid-outs
• Operate restaurant computer system (POS)
• Perform all closing checklist items as assigned
• Clean walls, floors, equipment, shelving, and service units to company standards
• Take and know inventory at all times and requisition daily supplies as needed
• Assist utility personnel with final clean up of kitchen
• Understand and apply all safety and security procedures

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Server preferred
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Bartender preferred
• Ability to operate restaurant computer system (POS)
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers, co-workers, and managers
• Ability to read all food orders
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

Physical Requirements

Light work — exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. Ability to stand during entire shift. Long hours may sometimes be required.
