Job summary

Digital Library Federation seeks a deck attendant in the Serial and Government Publications Division. The incumbent will maintain, service and shelve serial and government publications, retrieve materials for researchers, and manage shelving in a high-visibility reading room.

Responsibilities include accurate handling of collections, working under time constraints, and using LC ILS and related systems. This on-site role requires interaction with researchers and readers in a public service

Qualifications

• Must be highly accurate and capable of producing a large volume of work under tight deadlines.
• Strong interaction skills with researchers and other users of the Reading Room.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service and shelve collections in the division during hours of public service.
• Retrieve materials for researchers and ensure orderly shelving of serial collections.
• Utilize the LC ILS and other online systems to manage collections.
