Job summary

The Government of the Virgin Islands is seeking an intermediate Library Technician II to perform a range of support tasks for public services, technical processing, juvenile and adult services, outreach, and special collections. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with one year of non-professional library work experience.
• Or one year of work experience as a Library Technician I, not below completion of a high school diploma.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons in organizing library materials and information.
• Maintain catalog records for electronic resources.
• Provide support in circulation, library instructions, and data maintenance.
• Prepare materials for special collections and liaison for designated areas.
• Display and promote new and featured materials; assist in ordering and processing new materials.
• Monitor safety and security of patrons and materials; assist in outreach and special projects.
