Library Systems & Services Llc seeks a Librarian (Cataloging and Metadata) to support a library focused on military and engineering history by managing access to historical collections. The Librarian will provide professional cataloging, metadata, collection-development, and digitization-support services for the library’s book, print, historical, and digital collections.

This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of metadata standards, and the ability to work within structured

Competenze

• MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited program.
• Two+ years of original and copy cataloging experience across formats.
• Experience with MARC, MODS, and Dublin Core metadata.
• Ability to handle older, fragile materials and ensure consistent metadata.

Mansioni

• Perform original and copy cataloging for print and historical collections.
• Catalog materials across formats (monographs, maps, manuscripts, rare books).
• Create, review, and maintain bibliographic and metadata records for discoverability.
• Apply metadata standards such as MARC, MODS, and Dublin Core.
• Use EOS, OCLC, and LoC resources to support cataloging and digitization work.
• Support digitization and ingestion of agency publications and materials.
• Identify and correct metadata errors and quality issues.
• Coordinate with archivists and digitization staff to support research and preservation objectives.
• Perform quality-control reviews and maintain documentation of procedures.
