Job summary

Basecamp Research is building frontier AI for therapeutic design with a focus on scalable production pipelines. The Senior Production role will own the sample-to-sequence process end-to-end, driving throughput and translating R&D into robust, scalable workflows.

You will lead a production team, implement Lean/Six Sigma improvements, and coordinate with data and bioinformatics partners to ensure high-quality results as the Atlas scales in Phase 2. London and Boston offices support collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a production-based environment for high-throughput sequencing.
• Expertise with short-read (Illumina) and long-read (PacBio/Nanopore) platforms and library prep workflows.
• Proven Lean / Six Sigma application in a laboratory setting to reduce waste and improve throughput.
• Experience with laboratory automation: developing and maintaining automated liquid handling and sample processing workflows.
• Strong leadership: managing production schedules, resources, and multi-person workflows under throughput pressure.

Responsibilities

• Own the TGA production pipeline end-to-end for sample processing from DNA extraction to sequencing dispatch.
• Lead technical transfer from R&D into production, ensuring methods scale reliably at volume.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean/Six Sigma to shorten turnaround times and reduce variability.
• Monitor data input and pipeline health, coordinate with data suppliers and bioinformatics teams to ensure high-quality data flow.
• Lead and develop the production team, mentoring staff and building a culture of precision and pace as the Atlas scales.
• Horizon-scan and deploy new sequencing technologies and workflow innovations aligned with production targets.
