Stefanini is looking for a Sequencing Laboratory Technician in Research Triangle Park, NC 27709

Job Title: Sequencing Laboratory Technician

Work Shift: 1st Shift (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM)

Number of Openings: 1

Location: 26 Davis Drive, Research Triangle Park, NC 27709

Qualifications/Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology or Genetics plus two or more years relevant laboratory experience.
• Experience in a high throughput testing lab (greater than 200K samples/year) generating routine analytical data.
• Ability to initiate and complete analytical testing according to applicable work instructions within a defined timeline and compliant with QMS guidelines.
• Knowledge and understanding of the technical aspects of Next Generation sequencing and DNA isolation.
• Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with laboratory automation, liquid handling platforms, and software systems such as LIMS.
• Proactive communication on progress of assigned projects.
• Ability to interact positively and proactively with team members.
• Previous experience with plants or agricultural crops preferred, but not required.
• Computer skills including Windows 7, SharePoint, and MS Office, especially Word and Excel.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform high throughput Next Generation sequencing runs in a laboratory processing over 300K cotton and soybean samples annually.
• Follow established processes and operate semi-automated high throughput platforms to complete NGS sequencing for multiple crop species within specified timeframes and quality standards.
• Assist with high throughput DNA extractions using semi and fully automated platforms.
• Maintain and prepare samples and reagents, stock consumables, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
• Register work completion in the lab information system (LIMS).
• Report to the STA labs team lead, located at 26 Davis site in RTP.
