Job Description

Do you love solving puzzles and getting your hands dirty?

Want to join a team that treats you like family?

Ready to make a splash in the plumbing world?

Who We Are

At DrainWorks, we're more than just excavators - we're problem solvers on a mission to keep your pipes flowing smoothly. Our team helps homeowners and businesses solve urgent plumbing, sewer, and septic issues that affect health, safety, and everyday comfort. When a septic system backs up, a sewer line fails, or a plumbing issue threatens a property, our work makes an immediate difference. Join our team and be a part of something great while building hands-on skills in a trade that keeps communities running.

As a Septic Technician, you'll be working in a role that combines technical skill, physical work, customer interaction, and real-time problem-solving. One day might involve helping diagnose why a residential septic system is not draining properly; the next could mean supporting a repair that prevents sewage from backing up into a home or business. This is work you can see, touch, and take pride in at the end of the day, because the results matter to the people we serve.

We believe strong teams are built on trust, respect, and a willingness to help each other out. At DrainWorks, you'll work alongside people who value professionalism, pitch in when the job gets tough, and understand that every crew member plays an important role in getting the job done safely and correctly. If you want a workplace where your effort is noticed, your skills can grow, and your work has purpose, you'll fit right in here.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Provide top-notch plumbing, sewer, and septic services to our customers, helping diagnose problems, perform repairs, and support solutions that restore systems quickly and correctly. This could include assisting with inspections, identifying blockages or system failures, supporting excavation work, handling repairs, and making sure systems are functioning as intended before the job is complete. Your work will directly impact customer safety, property protection, and peace of mind, especially in situations where delays can lead to costly damage or unhealthy conditions.
  • Work with a team that values integrity and professionalism, where clear communication, dependable follow-through, and respect for customers and coworkers matter on every job. In the field, that means coordinating with your crew, staying aligned on the repair plan, updating customers when appropriate, and helping keep jobs moving efficiently from arrival to cleanup. You'll be part of a crew that works together to solve challenging field problems efficiently, because septic, sewer, and plumbing issues often require fast thinking and strong teamwork.
  • Ensure safety standards are met at all times, including following jobsite procedures, using equipment responsibly, and staying alert in excavation, plumbing, and septic environments. This is critical to protecting you, your teammates, and the customer's property. Whether you're working around trenches, heavy equipment, wastewater systems, tools, or uneven outdoor terrain, attention to safety helps prevent injuries, avoid property damage, and ensure every job is completed responsibly.
  • Grow and learn with us through continuous education opportunities, giving you the chance to sharpen technical skills, build confidence in the field, and expand your career path within the plumbing, sewer, and septic industry. You'll gain exposure to real-world service scenarios, learn how experienced technicians approach diagnosis and repair, and build practical knowledge that can lead to greater responsibility over time. This is an opportunity to develop a long-term trade skillset in an essential industry that is always needed.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service with a smile by showing up on time, explaining work clearly, and leaving customers feeling informed and cared for. Many of our customers call us during stressful, messy, or urgent situations, so professionalism and communication matter just as much as technical ability. Great service helps build trust, repeat business, and a strong reputation for the whole team, and it turns a difficult day for the customer into an experience where they feel supported and confident in the work being done.

The Hiring Process

We have a rigorous process for hiring, but move FAST for the right person. You could be hired in as little as 10 days! We've had lots of interest, so the first few steps are automated to make sure you can get considered quickly.

Don't worry - if you take the time to apply, we will respond to 100% of the applicants.

The Process
  • Click apply and answer a few Who, What, When questions. (5 min)
  • You'll be texted a link for a 10 min questionnaire that will help match you to the job (or others that might suit you!).
  • You'll get a text for a quick 1-way video question. (5 min)
  • We'll send you a link to get scheduled for an in-person interview.
  • You can easily be in for an interview within a couple days from right now.

We know skilled, hardworking people often do not have time for a long, drawn-out hiring experience. That's why our process is designed to move quickly while still helping us get to know you and helping you understand the role, the team, and what success looks like at DrainWorks.

What We're Looking For
  • Dependability and a can-do attitude, because our customers count on us to respond when problems are messy, urgent, and cannot wait. We value people who show up ready to work, follow through on commitments, and take pride in doing the job right even when conditions are tough or the work is physically demanding.
  • Physical stamina to tackle tough jobs, including lifting, digging, moving equipment, and working in active outdoor jobsite conditions throughout the day. This is a hands-on position for someone who is comfortable being active, working with tools and materials, and contributing wherever the crew needs support.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, since plumbing, sewer, and septic issues do not stop for heat, cold, rain, or muddy conditions. Candidates should be prepared for real field work, not just light-duty tasks, and should be comfortable adjusting to changing site conditions while staying productive and professional.
  • Focus on safety and teamwork, with the awareness to follow procedures, support your crew, and communicate well in the field so jobs are completed efficiently and responsibly. The best people in this role understand that good work is rarely done alone and that staying alert, asking questions, and backing up your team are essential parts of success.
Why Join Us

We offer great benefits including paid holidays, time off, retirement match, health insurance contributions, and fun company events. Just as important, you'll be joining a team-oriented environment where people support one another, work hard, and take pride in solving real problems for customers.

This is a chance to join a company where your work has visible impact every day. You'll help restore essential systems that people rely on in their homes and businesses, and you'll do it alongside a crew that understands the value of hard work, accountability, and mutual respect. For the right person, this role can be more than just a paycheck - it can be the start of a stable, fulfilling career in a skilled trade.

If you want more than just a job, this is an opportunity to build a fulfilling career in an essential trade, develop valuable technical experience, and grow with a company that recognizes effort and professionalism. If you enjoy practical work, solving problems in the field, learning by doing, and being part of a team that has each other's backs, DrainWorks offers an environment where you can build confidence, expand your abilities, and create a future in the plumbing, sewer, and septic industry.
