Job summary

Blacksmith Agency, an AI-first digital agency, seeks an SEO Strategist, Roofing to own search for roofing clients across markets. You’ll lead the technical roadmap, content priorities, and the ranking story when clients ask what moved. You are the strategic voice in client discussions and make the calls.

Responsibilities include technical SEO, keyword strategy, AI-assisted content coordination, local SEO, and GA4 reporting with quarterly roadmaps for each client.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on in SEO, with audits and fixes performed independently.
• Fluency with primary SEO tools and analytics platforms.
• Agency experience across multiple clients.

Responsibilities

• Own technical SEO for roofing client book, including roadmap and architecture.
• Define keyword strategy and on-page optimization with content writers/AI.
• Improve visibility in AI search and traditional organic results.
• Manage local and multi-location SEO efforts where needed.
• Provide GA4/Search Console reporting and quarterly client roadmaps.

About The Role

Blacksmith Agency is an AI-first digital agency. As SEO Strategist, Roofing you own search for a book of roofing clients (roofing contractors operating across several markets): the technical roadmap, the content priorities and the ranking story when the client asks what moved. You are the strategic voice at the table, and you make the calls.

What You Will Own

• Technical SEO: crawl, indexation, site speed, schema and site architecture.
• Keyword strategy, on-page optimization and content priorities, with writers and AI producing the drafts.
• Getting clients found in AI search: Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity, alongside classic organic results.
• Links, local search and multi-location SEO where the client needs it.
• Reporting in GA4 and Search Console, and the quarterly roadmap for each client.

What You Bring

• 3+ years hands-on in SEO: you have run the audits and made the fixes yourself.
• Fluency with Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog and Ahrefs or Semrush.
• Agency experience across several clients at once.
• Clear spoken English with US clients on live calls.
• SEO for roofing or similar multi-location businesses is a strong plus.
