TEKsystems is seeking an experienced SEO Specialist to lead SEO initiatives across a global digital ecosystem from Chicago. The role ensures websites are search and AI generative engine-friendly, scalable, and aligned with SEO & GEO best practices across regions and business units.

Qualifications

• Partner with web development, UX, and business partners to integrate SEO into site builds, migrations, maintenance, redesigns and retirement.
• Work with business partners to identify and explain SEO & GEO strategies and deliver actionable insights.
• Leverage SEO tools and analytics platforms for insights and monitoring.
• Monitor site health, crawl stats, and index coverage.
• Create dashboards and reports to communicate performance and opportunities to team and stakeholders.
• Document SEO/GEO measurement and reporting best practices and processes.
• Develop and provide technical requirements for enterprise-level SEO & GEO strategies across global properties.
• Lead site audits and/or leverage third party site audits for crawl/index/performance issues.
• Manage redirects testing/validation with partners and dev teams.
• Consult on robots.txt, canonical URLs, XML sitemaps, hreflang in QA/production.
• Provide site architecture, internal linking, and URL structure recommendations.
• Ensure Core Web Vitals and mobile-first indexing compliance.
• Troubleshoot technical SEO issues and provide fast impact reports.
• Stay ahead of algorithm updates and AI trends.
• Develop and enforce SEO governance, standards, and documentation.
• Provide SEO & GEO training to applicable audiences.

SEO Specialist

Hybrid

Contract, 40 hours a week, paid weekly

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategicSEO Specialistto lead SEO projects within our global digital ecosystem. This role will be responsible for ensuring our websites are search and AI generative engine-friendly, scalable, and aligned with SEO & GEO best practices across multiple websites, regions and business units. The candidate will present SEO requirements and recommendations to developers and business unit partners, and scope and execute SEO improvement projects. The candidate will be required to consult with and provide education about the benefits and strategy behind SEO & GEO to diverse audiences across a highly matrixed organization.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Partner with web development, UX, and business partners to integrate SEO into site builds, migrations, maintenance, redesigns and retirement.

• Work with a variety of business partners to identify and explain SEO & GEO strategies and deliver actionable insights.

• Leverage SEO tools (e.g., BrightEdge, Oncrawl, Siteimprove) and analytics platforms (Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Tableau, Looker Studio, Big Query, etc.) for insights and monitoring.

• Monitor site health, crawl stats, and index coverage via Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.

• Create dashboards and reports to communicate performance and opportunities to team and stakeholders.

• Document SEO/GEO measurement and reporting best practices and processes

• Develop and provide technical requirements and recommendations for enterprise-level technical SEO & GEO strategies across global web properties.

• Lead site audits (both in QA & production) and/or leverage third party site audits to identify crawl, indexation, and performance issues and provide actionable recommendations.

• Manage the requirements, testing, validation and implementation of redirects, partnering with business partners and development teams.

• Consult and provide requirements for testing and validation of robots.txt files, canonical URLs, XML sitemaps, hreflang implementation and other technical SEO needs in QA and production environments.

• Consult and provide requirements and recommendations for site architecture, internal linking, and URL structures.

• Ensure compliance with Core Web Vitals and mobile-first indexing.

• Troubleshoot technical SEO issues, identify solutions and provide impact reports, sometimes at a quick pace.

• Stay ahead of algorithm updates, emerging technologies, and industry trends, such as the impact and evolution of AI

• Develop and enforce SEO governance, standards, and documentation.

• Provide SEO & GEO training & education to applicable audiences

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
