Lactalis USA in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Sensory Science Intern to join our R&D team. You will evaluate taste, texture, and consumer appeal of our dairy products through hands-on sensory testing, designed to bridge food science and data-driven insights.

This 12-month, on-site internship offers exposure to panel design, data analysis (T-tests, ANOVA, PCA), and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Candidates pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Biology, Chemistry, Agriculture, or related

Competenze

• Interest in Sensory Science is a plus.
• Experience in conducting sensory testing, setup, and interpretation of results is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Mansioni

• Assist sensory scientists in designing, planning, and executing sensory evaluations (discrimination, descriptive, hedonic/consumer tests).
• Coordinate panel scheduling, sample prep, and sensory session setup.
• Recruit, train, and calibrate sensory panelists for descriptive analysis.
• Analyze sensory data using statistical methods (T-Test, ANOVA, PCA, cluster analysis, preference mapping).
• Present sensory results to stakeholders in R&D, Marketing, Quality, and Manufacturing.
• Drive to stores to obtain commercially available dairy products for panels and tastings.
