Job summary

Apex Space, Inc. is seeking a Sensor Systems Engineer to own our sensor products from concept to production. You will drive architecture, verification, and qualification campaigns, balancing performance, cost, and risk while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

You will lead trade studies, develop test stations, and investigate failures to improve future designs in a fast-paced environment at our Playa Vista office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Optical, Mechanical, Computer, Software Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field.
• Hands-on experience wiring, prototyping, integrating and testing complex systems.
• Proven ownership of hardware project or product lifecycle.
• Strong grasp of test engineering concepts and practices.
• Proven leadership, time management, and organizational skills.
• Willingness to explore clean-sheet subsystem architectures in open design space.

Responsibilities

• Own sensor products through full development lifecycle from concept to production.
• Lead verification, validation, and qualification campaigns; develop test plans and reports.
• Collaborate across disciplines to integrate sensor solutions with structures, optics, software, and GNC.
• Present technical work at design reviews and document engineering work clearly.
