Job summary

Apex Technology, Inc. is seeking a Sensor Systems Engineer to own our sensor products across the full development lifecycle, from concept to production-ready hardware. You will balance performance, cost, and risk through trade studies and lead verification campaigns.

In this role you will collaborate across engineering domains to deliver integrated sensor solutions, create thorough documentation, and present findings at design reviews. Join a fast-growing space-focused team at Playa Vista.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering/physics field.
• Hands-on experience developing, prototyping, integrating, and testing multidisciplinary systems.
• Demonstrated hardware, project, or product ownership experience.
• Strong understanding of test engineering fundamentals and methodologies.
• Proven leadership, time management, and organizational skills.
• Comfortable researching and creating clean-sheet subsystem architectures in open design space.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Own sensor products through full development lifecycle from concept to production.
• Serve as hardware REA during production and provide technical guidance and documentation.
• Manage project budget, schedule, and tasks within a multidisciplinary team.
• Own verification/validation activities for sensor subsystems and develop qualification/test campaigns.
• Create test plans, procedures, and reports; develop and maintain test stations and GSE/STE.
