Job summary

Unitemp, a division of United Building Solutions, seeks a Senior HVAC Project Manager to lead complex commercial and industrial projects in New Jersey and New York. You will partner with clients, owners, engineers, and field teams to deliver projects on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

You will oversee planning, budgeting, procurement, and execution while mentoring other PMs and engineers. A strong track record in design-build and plan & spec environments is essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial and industrial HVAC project management experience.
• Experience managing large mechanical construction projects from inception to completion.
• Experience with projects ranging from $500K - $20M.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple commercial and industrial HVAC projects from award through closeout.
• Develop and manage schedules, budgets, manpower plans, and forecasts.
• Partner with owners, general contractors, engineers, and vendors for successful execution.
• Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and scope documents.
• Manage costs, billing, forecasting, procurement, and change orders.
• Identify risks and develop proactive solutions to stay on schedule and budget.
• Provide leadership and resources to field operations and teams.
• Conduct progress meetings and report to clients and leadership.
• Mentor junior project staff and engineers.
• Build relationships to generate repeat business and partnerships.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Project Manager, you'll take ownership of every phase of commercial and industrial HVAC projects-from planning and budgeting through execution and closeout. You'll keep projects moving, teams aligned, and clients informed while ensuring quality, safety, profitability, and customer satisfaction remain top priorities.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead multiple commercial and industrial HVAC projects simultaneously from award through closeout.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, manpower plans, and financial forecasts.
• Partner with owners, general contractors, engineers, architects, vendors, and field leadership to ensure successful project execution.
• Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, and scope documents.
• Manage project costs, billing, forecasting, procurement, and change orders.
• Identify risks early and develop proactive solutions to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Support field operations by providing leadership, technical guidance, and resources.
• Conduct project meetings and provide regular progress updates to clients and executive leadership.
• Mentor Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Engineers.
• Build strong customer relationships that generate repeat business and long-term partnerships.
• Ensure compliance with all company quality standards and safety regulations.

What You Bring

We're looking for a proven leader who combines technical knowledge with strong business and relationship management skills.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial and industrial HVAC project management experience
• Demonstrated success managing large mechanical construction projects from inception through completion
• Experience with projects ranging from $500K - $20M
• Strong knowledge of:
• Commercial HVAC systems
• Hydronic piping
• Chilled water systems
• Boiler systems
• Central plants
• Industrial mechanical systems
• Design-Build and Plan & Spec projects
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
• Excellent financial management and forecasting skills
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational abilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software such as Procore, Viewpoint, CMiC, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar platforms

Preferred

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
• OSHA 30 Certification
• PMP Certification
• Experience working for a commercial mechanical contractor
