Job summary

Charles Schwab is seeking a Senior Manager, Zero Trust Operations to lead complex incident response, drive strategic improvements, and oversee high‑risk changes across cloud, network, and identity domains. You will mentor teams, shape policy models, and partner with engineering to advance Zero Trust maturity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity.
• 3+ years of direct operational support experience with Zero Trust solutions (ZTNA, CASB, SWG, SASE, etc).
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, and cloud security concepts.
• Automation experience desired (Python, scripts, Ansible, Salt, etc).

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the response to complex Zero Trust related service degradations and incidents.
• Independently investigate and resolve highly complex connectivity, access, and performance issues across Zero Trust platforms.
• Serve as a technical incident leader and escalation authority for high‑severity incidents and drive RCA.
• Set stakeholder communication standards during major incidents with executive updates and remediation strategies.
• Design and implement high‑risk configuration and architectural changes to Zero Trust platforms.
• Lead the evolution of policy models, access controls, and segmentation aligned to Zero Trust principles.
• Own pre‑ and post‑change validation strategy including UX testing and risk assessment.
• Enforce change quality standards with rollback and audit‑ready documentation.
• Provide technical leadership for platform stability and resilience to identify systemic risks.
• Drive proactive monitoring and telemetry improvements and actionable alerts.
• Translate mitigations into long‑term improvements across tooling and processes.
• Partner with engineering to enhance Zero Trust services for resilience and security.
• Maintain runbooks, incident frameworks, and scalable procedures across teams.
• Apply senior judgment balancing security, availability, and user experience.
• Author and maintain authoritative documentation and diagrams used as sources of truth.
• Ensure durable knowledge transfer to operations and support teams.
