Job summary

The Freelance Firm, LLC, a national network of freelance attorneys and paralegals, seeks a qualified West Virginia Plaintiff's Employment Law Attorney. This role offers remote, on-demand support with 10+ hours weekly and requires WV bar admission and Morgantown-area residency. Pay starts at $80/hour for applicable hearings and briefs.

Responsibilities include in-person and virtual hearing coverage, case review and strategy, and strong legal research and drafting for plaintiff-side matters.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in West Virginia.
• Located in North or Central West Virginia, near Morgantown.
• Minimum 5+ years of plaintiff-side employment law experience.
• Experience handling wrongful termination or related claims.
• Comfortable providing in-person and virtual hearing coverage.
• Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.
• Experience with case review, litigation strategy and case management.
• Organized, detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines.
• Self-starter capable of working independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person coverage for hearings, depositions, mediations and other proceedings as needed.
• Provide virtual hearing and deposition coverage when required.
• Review employment law case files and assist with case strategy.
• Support wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, wage/hour and other plaintiff-side matters.
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and other documents.
• Assist with case management and help move matters forward efficiently.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to support ongoing litigation.
