Job summary

Mob Entertainment, a startup multimedia studio known for Poppy Playtime, seeks a Senior Writer for our rapid prototyping Skunk Works team. You will refine concepts, define narrative structure, and set tone and mood across worlds, characters, and episodic arcs that could sustain content into the future.

You will work with authors and stakeholders, storyboard beats, and guide prototyping with design and art collaboration in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience writing for games.
• Storyboarding experience in games, TV, and/or movies.
• Strong understanding and passion for soft/gray in-world storytelling.
• Excellent communication and collaboration in a remote-first environment.
• Service-based attitude; brings worlds and characters to life regardless of origin.

Responsibilities

• Review, clarify and refine game concepts from a backlog.
• Define and manifest narrative arcs for each concept to sustain episodic content.
• Create plot, theme, tone and setting to inform prototype efforts.
• Storyboard story beats to guide prototype development.
• Advise and critique co-dev teams’ prototype work as needed.
• Coordinate recording sessions for story-based audio.
