Job summary

GEA Germany GmbH is seeking a Repair Shop Manager & Safety Officer to lead the workshop, overseeing technicians, supervisors and maintenance teams to ensure safe, compliant and efficient operations. You will drive continuous improvements in safety, quality, delivery and cost; manage workload planning, capacity and cross‑department coordination with logistics, engineering, supply chain and service.

Qualifications

Diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
8–15+ years in industrial repair, manufacturing or service ops.
5+ years in leadership or management role.
Experience with rotating centrifugal equipment and high-speed rotors.
Experience supervising managers or senior technicians and mentoring staff.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate workshop technicians.
Allocate tasks and monitor progress for timely repairs.
Monitor staff performance and conduct evaluations.
Participate in hiring, onboarding and disciplinary processes with HR.
Provide leadership and direction for all workshop operations, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, within budget and to quality standards.
Oversee workload planning, capacity management and resource allocation.
Ensure coordination between workshop and adjacent departments (logistics, engineering, supply chain, sales, service).
Act as escalation point for critical operational, quality, or customer issues.
Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular performance reviews; drive workforce planning, hiring, training and succession planning.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Promote best practices in safety and risk management.
Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste and improve throughput.
Establish and track KPIs related to productivity, quality, cost, delivery and safety.
