Job summary

Actalent in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to lead ambitious workplace projects from concept through construction. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to translate space strategy into innovative design solutions that enhance culture, performance, and user experience.

You’ll manage design development, create space plans and FF&E strategies, mentor junior designers, and guide teams through BIM workflows using Revit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture from a CIDA-accredited program.
• 6+ years of professional experience in commercial interior design, workplace design, or interior architecture.
• Strong proficiency in Revit and BIM-based project delivery.
• Experience leading workplace interior projects through multiple phases of design and construction.
• Strong background in space planning, workplace strategy, and commercial interiors.
• Knowledge of commercial building systems, building codes, and ADA requirements.
• Experience with FF&E selection, finish specifications, and commercial interior detailing.
• Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead workplace interior design projects from programming and concept development through construction administration and project closeout.
• Develop creative, thoughtful design solutions that align with client goals, workplace strategies, budgets, and project schedules.
• Create and oversee space plans, test fits, and workplace layouts that support functionality, culture, branding, and user experience.
• Guide project teams through schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
• Lead client presentations, design workshops, and project meetings.
• Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, consultants, vendors, and internal design teams.
• Select and specify furniture, finishes, materials, lighting, and FF&E packages.
• Prepare and review construction documents utilizing Revit and BIM workflows.
• Support furniture procurement and finish package coordination efforts.
• Review submittals, respond to RFIs, conduct site visits, and assist during construction.
• Communicate design concepts through presentations, renderings, visualization tools, and graphic storytelling.
• Mentor and support junior designers while fostering a collaborative, team-oriented culture.
• Maintain project quality, schedules, and client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
