Job summary

New York Life Insurance seeks an engineering owner for its enterprise workload automation platform, ensuring reliability, scalability, and resilience across on‑premises and cloud environments.

You will operate and enhance scheduling platforms, establish standards for logging, monitoring, and audit readiness, and lead incident response to minimize downtime. This role applies SRE practices to automate operations and improve observability.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years in workload automation, platform engineering, or SRE roles.
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise workload platforms and modern automation tooling.
• Strong scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, Bash, SQL, REST APIs, JSON and YAML.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain enterprise scheduling controllers across on‑prem and cloud.
• Define platform standards, SLIs/SLOs, governance, and incident response.
• Lead platform upgrades, configuration management, and lifecycle maintenance.
• Develop automation using Git, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Build monitoring dashboards and health checks for reliability.
