Job summary

National Grid in Northport, NY is seeking a Lead Specialist for Workforce Planning and Scheduling. The role oversees procurement, scheduling, and administrative support for the Maintenance Services Department, coordinating across internal teams and external partners.

Requirements include a Bachelor's or equivalent plus several years of experience; travel to NG plants on Long Island is expected. Visa sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Management or technical discipline required, plus a minimum of five years related work experience.
• Associate's degree in business, management or other technical discipline with seven years related work experience considered.
• Demonstrate administrative, technical, supervisory and both written and verbal communication skills; proficiency with MS tools and scheduling software.

Responsibilities

• Outage Supply Chain Manager: manage procurement, PO for outside services and materials, coordinate with Purchasing, A/P and plant personnel.
• Workforce Manpower Coordinator: produce weekly rosters for roving maintenance workforce; track overtime and skills; support planning of overhauls and projects.
• Administration Support Management: lead clerical support; timekeeping, payroll, document mgmt, scheduling, tracking qualifications and certifications.
• Training Coordinator: schedule training for mechanics and supervisors; maintain training records in LMS.
• Leave Administrator: manage absence data and align with HR systems.
• Department Safety Administrator: run weekly tailboard topics, safety logs, and safety committee activities.
• Database Management: maintain MS Access DB with personnel data; link to corporate systems.
• Miscellaneous: handle permits and interface with Accounts Payable and emergency departments.
