Job summary

Republic Indemnity Company of America, a member of the Great American Insurance Group, is seeking a Senior Production Underwriter for California Workers’ Compensation. This role offers a hybrid/remote schedule and the chance to influence underwriting decisions in a collaborative environment.

You will evaluate new and renewal business, analyze risk, collaborate with actuaries, agents and clients, order reports, ensure documentation, and contribute to marketing strategies.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of underwriting California Workers’ Compensation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing/Economics or related field.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with familiarity in digital marketing tools.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal business in accordance with underwriting guidelines and risk appetite.
• Analyze risk information to inform coverage, pricing, and terms.
• Collaborate with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients to obtain information and clarify details.
• Order reports and screens (motor vehicle reports, loss history, outside inspections, etc.) to inform decisions.
• Ensure proper documentation of underwriting decisions and compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Evaluate existing policies for renewal or modification.
• Communicate underwriting decisions clearly to internal teams, agents, and brokers.
• Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote products to brokers and agents.
• Monitor market trends and competition to identify opportunities for product enhancements.
• Organize and participate in marketing initiatives and broker/agent meetings.
