Job summary

Old Republic Commercial Risk is seeking an experienced in-house counsel to lead the litigation of workers’ compensation claims for PA workers’ compensation matters. You will handle pleadings, depositions, and briefs, while developing client relationships and ensuring compliance with guidelines.

A PA Bar license and JD from an accredited U.S. law school are required, with 2–3 years of relevant litigation experience.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited U.S. law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in PA (PA Bar Association).
  • 2–3 years of workers' compensation litigation experience representing insured or self-insured employers.
  • Proficient in MS Word and internal billing software/systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication; capable of client presentations and training.
  • Detail-oriented with good judgment and ability to balance priorities.
  • Able to work independently or collaboratively; strong research and negotiation skills.
  • Extensive PA workers' compensation law knowledge and litigation process.

Responsibilities

  • Litigate PA workers' compensation claims and represent insured or self-insured employers.
  • Prepare legal correspondence, memoranda, briefs, and pleadings.
  • Take depositions of claimants, insureds and expert witnesses.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships and provide regulatory research and analysis.
  • Advise internal clients on developments in workers' compensation law and procedure.
