Job summary

Old Republic Commercial Risk is seeking an in-house counsel to litigate insurance company and TPA claims in Pennsylvania workers’ compensation matters. You will prepare pleadings, briefs, and memoranda, conduct depositions, and negotiate settlements on behalf of insured and self-insured employers.

The role requires PA Bar admission, a JD, and 2–3 years of workers’ compensation litigation experience, with strong writing, negotiation, and research skills. Travel across PA is expected.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Licensed with the PA Bar Association.
• 2–3 years of workers compensation litigation experience representing insured/self-insured employers.

Responsibilities

• Litigate insurance company and third party administrator claims for PA workers’ compensation.
• Prepare legal correspondence, memorandums, briefs and pleadings; participate in negotiations and settlements of litigated claims.
• Conduct depositions of claimants, insureds and expert witnesses.
• Advise internal clients on developments in workers’ compensation law and procedure; perform regulatory research and analysis.
• Maintain solid internal and external client relationships; travel to locations throughout PA as needed.
