Job summary

Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance is seeking a Sr Workers Compensation Claims Analyst III in Indianapolis. You will independently manage complex workers' compensation claims, act as a subject matter expert on regulations, and guide teams on best practices to improve outcomes.

You will analyze medical, legal, vocational, and financial data to determine reserves and settlements, advise management on litigation, and collaborate with legal counsel, providers, TPAs, brokers, and regulators to resolve

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's preferred.
Minimum 5+ years of workers' compensation claims handling experience.
Experience handling complex, litigated, high-exposure claims.
Advanced knowledge of workers' compensation laws across multiple jurisdictions.
Independently manage large claim inventories and investigations.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced proficiency with claims management systems and Microsoft Office.
Willingness to travel to customer locations, hearings, or meetings.
Industry designations preferred (AIC/CPCU/ARM/WCP).

Responsibilities

Independently investigate, evaluate, negotiate, manage, and resolve complex workers' compensation claims in good faith.
Serve as subject matter expert for WC regulations, claim handling best practices, and industry trends.
Analyze medical, legal, vocational, and financial information to determine reserves, compensability, liability exposure, and settlements.
Provide recommendations to management on litigation, settlement authority, and risk mitigation.
Partner with legal counsel, medical providers, TPAs, brokers, and regulatory agencies to facilitate resolution.
Perform quality reviews and audits of claim files for compliance and standards.
Mentor and coach Claims Analysts I/II; lead special projects and process improvements.
Maintain documentation and timely claim handling per standards and jurisdictional requirements.
Demonstrate proficiency with emerging technologies, automation, and AI to optimize claims operations.
Promote technology adoption and innovative solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy.
