Job summary

West Bend is seeking a seasoned Claims Representative (Workers Comp) to own complex claims from investigation to resolution. The role supports remote and hybrid work, with a hybrid option near West Bend, Madison, or Appleton.

You will manage a busy desk, negotiate settlements, and collaborate across teams. Ideal candidates bring experience with high-exposure claims, strong communication, and proficiency with claims systems.

Qualifications

• Must have strong experience handling large, complex, or higher-exposure workers compensation claims.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Solid investigation, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Team-oriented with ability to collaborate and support others.
• Ability to work effectively with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and internal partners.
• Comfortable making independent decisions while knowing when to escalate.
• Proficiency with claims technology and computer-based tools.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of complex workers comp claims from initial investigation through resolution.
• Research policy language and develop well-supported coverage decisions.
• Conduct thorough investigations; evaluate liability, damages, reserves, and settlement strategy.
• Negotiate effectively with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and other parties.
• Oversee litigated files and coordinate with counsel on resolution strategies.
• Maintain accurate reserves, timely follow-up, and strong file documentation.
• Present complex claims to Committee and communicate recommendations.
• Collaborate with teammates and internal partners to resolve claims.
• Serve as a resource and mentor within the Claims team.
• Deliver high-level customer service while meeting quality and audit standards.
