Job summary

ProAssurance is seeking an experienced workers’ compensation claims professional to join our Eastern Alliance team in Carmel, IN, with hybrid or remote options. You will manage all aspects of assigned claims, verify coverage, investigate, and establish reserves in line with the Return to Wellness philosophy.

The role emphasizes proactive communication with injured workers, agents, customers, and underwriters, accurate reporting, subrogation potential, and contributing to profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years in workers’ compensation claims management or 10+ years in professional claims capacity without a degree.
• Knowledge of applicable state laws and industry standards.
• Ability to attend insurance and industry functions to promote the Company.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to learn new software.
• Advanced analytical ability to analyze information and make decisions on claims payments.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Attention to detail in processing information, priorities, and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• 35% - Manage ongoing claim activities proactively to achieve favorable outcomes and maintain relationships with injured workers, agents, customers, and coworkers.
• 25% - Investigate assigned claims, assess coverage, determine injuries, establish reserves, and identify subrogation potential.
• 15% - Prepare claim status reports and attend meetings to present reports.
• 15% - Manage Return to Wellness initiatives with stakeholders to ensure proper return‑to‑work guidelines.
• 5% - Attend monthly large account team meetings and contribute to discussions on results and renewal strategy.
• 5% - Support company projects and professional development through events and conferences.
