Key Risk (a Berkley Company) is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Claims Representative III to analyze and manage complex workers’ compensation claims, including reviewing, investigating, and deciding on coverage and compensability. The role requires claim negotiation, reserving, and securing timely settlements in a fiduciary capacity for policyholders.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of workers’ compensation claims management experience
• Adjuster license strongly desired or ability to obtain within six months
• Knowledge of workers’ compensation principles and laws, preferably jurisdiction specific
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to travel for business purposes (less than 10%)

Responsibilities

• Analyze and process workers’ compensation claims by investigating and gathering information
• Negotiate settlements up to designated authority level and issue payments
• Calculate reserves and manage reserve adequacy
• Prepare state filings within statutory limits
• Manage litigation process and coordinate vendor referrals for investigation or litigation
• Communicate with all parties involved and maintain professional relationships
