Key Risk (a Berkley Company) in High Point, NC is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Claims Representative III to analyze and manage complex claims, review coverage, investigate, and negotiate settlements in good faith.

The role requires 3–5 years of claims management, an adjuster license (or within six months), and strong communication, negotiation, and detail-oriented decision making with travel under 10%. Base salary range $70,000–$90,000 with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of workers’ compensation claims management experience.
• Adjuster license strongly desired or ability to obtain license within six months.
• Knowledge of workers’ compensation principles and laws, preferably jurisdiction-specific.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Proven critical thinking with attention to detail.
• Ability to travel for business (<10%).

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and processes workers’ compensation claims by investigating and gathering information to determine exposure.
• Negotiates settlements up to designated authority and makes claim payments.
• Calculates reserves and manages reserve adequacy throughout the life of the claim.
• Calculates and pays benefits due; approves payments and settles claims within authority.
• Develops and manages claims through action plans toward timely resolution.
• Prepares necessary state filings within statutory limits.
• Manages litigation process to ensure timely, cost-effective resolutions.
• Coordinates vendor referrals for additional investigation or litigation management.
• Communicates with all parties involved and maintains professional relationships.
• Executes claims activities to ensure delivery of quality services.
