Job summary

Justworks in Tampa is seeking a Senior Claims Manager of Workers Compensation to lead a small team and manage a challenging caseload within a PEO environment. You will collaborate with Customer Success, Technology, Accounting, and Legal to ensure accurate reserves, effective resolutions, and continuous process improvement.

The role requires extensive WC claims experience across states, strong supervision and analytical abilities, and a proactive approach to improve outcomes and customer service.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in a Third Party Claims Administration(TPA) or PEO experience in claims.
• Experience mentoring, training or informally leading peers or junior claims associates
• Working knowledge of WC regulations in multiple states
• Proficiency with claims management systems and RMIS platforms

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support a small claims team providing daily direction, workload oversight and performance coaching.
• Manage active caseload of complex, litigated, and high-severity claims from First Notice of Loss through closure.
• Review coverage decisions, reserves and settlement recommendations to ensure accuracy and alignment with company guidelines.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for difficult claims and customer concerns.
• Coordinate with TPAs, carriers, defense counsel, medical providers, and nurse case managers to drive timely resolutions.
• Onboard and train new claims staff and ensure familiarity with PEO workflows and state compliance requirements.
