Job summary

Acadia Insurance, part of the W.R. Berkley family, seeks a Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Representative in New Hampshire.

You will investigate, evaluate, and resolve complex workers’ compensation claims, ensuring compliance with company standards and state regulations. You’ll analyze loss facts, communicate decisions clearly, and negotiate settlements while maintaining strong relationships with insureds, claimants, and agents.

Qualifications

• 5 years of NH/Maine Workers’ Compensation Lost Time claims handling experience.
• Valid NH WC adjuster license.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Strong negotiation and claims resolution skills.
• Proficient computer skills and multi-system work ability.
• Ability to manage a complex workload with sound judgment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships with agents and departments.
• Insurance coursework (AIC/CPCU) preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate and resolve claims per company standards and state requirements.
• Analyze facts of loss to support compensability decisions.
• Prepare professional written communications for insureds, claimants, attorneys, and agents.
• Conduct detailed investigations including on-site visits and witness interviews as needed.
• Document reserves and escalate high-exposure cases promptly.
• Negotiate fair settlements in good faith.
• Manage litigated claims from start to resolution with defense counsel.
• Engage vendors to achieve appropriate outcomes while controlling costs.
• Maintain paperless files with detailed notes and periodic reports.
• Communicate developments to other departments and monitor trends.
