Starbucks Coffee Company is seeking a senior claims specialist to provide compassionate, high-quality support to injured partners and to lead workers’ compensation claims in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role requires California WC experience and strong communication, negotiation, and empathy to drive timely treatment, wage payments, and return-to-work outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of California workers’ compensation claim adjusting or work experience with third party administrators, insurance companies or corporate risk management departments.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively with partners, leadership, vendors, healthcare providers, and legal stakeholders.
• Strong negotiation and relationship management skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with customers, partners, vendors, and third-party administrators.
• Strong time management and prioritization skills.
• Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Administer a portfolio of workers’ compensation claims and direct third party administrators to ensure timely medical treatments and wage loss payments.
• Lead discussions with partners, leadership, healthcare providers, and claim stakeholders to identify return-to-work opportunities.
• Balance empathy, quality, and operational excellence to drive positive claim outcomes.
• Oversee clinical assessments and investigations to ensure compliant and effective claim handling.
• Support litigation strategy and ensure adherence to state regulations.
