Job summary

Socket.dev in Oakland, CA seeks a Workers’ Compensation Attorney with at least 1 year of California workers’ compensation experience. This in-office role includes handling a full caseload and supervising a team of case managers.

You will negotiate settlements, appear at hearings, and ensure compliance with WCAB procedures while delivering strong client advocacy in a team-driven environment. This is an excellent growth opportunity for leadership and litigation skills in a busy practice.

Qualifications

• Active California Bar license is required.
• Minimum 1 year of workers’ compensation experience in CA.
• Strong knowledge of WCAB procedures and California labor code.
• Prior experience supervising staff is a plus.
• Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of workers’ compensation matters from inception through resolution.
• Negotiate and settle active cases.
• Appear at hearings, conferences, depositions, and trials as required.
• Supervise and provide direction to a team of case managers.
• Review case manager work for accuracy, timeliness and progression.
• Communicate with clients, adjusters, opposing counsel, and medical providers.
• Draft pleadings, motions and settlement documents.
• Evaluate cases and lead settlement negotiations.
• Ensure compliance with WCAB procedures, deadlines, and internal workflows.
