Socket.dev is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Attorney in Oakland, CA, to handle a full caseload and oversee a team of case managers. California Bar license and at least 1 year of workers’ compensation experience are required, with strong WCAB knowledge and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Active California Bar license is required.
• Minimum 1 year of workers’ compensation experience in California.
• Strong knowledge of WCAB procedures and California labor code.
• Prior supervision or mentoring of staff is a plus.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of workers’ compensation matters from inception through resolution.
• Negotiate and settle active cases.
• Appear at hearings, conferences, depositions, and trials as required.
• Supervise and provide direction to a team of case managers.
• Review case manager work for accuracy, timeliness, and proper progression.
• Communicate with clients, adjusters, opposing counsel, and medical providers.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and settlement documents.
• Evaluate cases and lead settlement negotiations.
• Ensure compliance with WCAB procedures, deadlines, and internal workflows.
