Job summary

Medica, a nonprofit health plan, seeks a senior finance professional to oversee core financial system processes within Workday and ensure accurate closing, governance, and continuous improvements. The role collaborates with Accounting, Finance, Treasury, Procurement, and IT to enable consistent financial operations and audit readiness.

They will drive system enhancements, streamline workflows, and support adoption of new features, while maintaining strong internal controls and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 7+ years of work experience beyond degree in a related role.
• Experience with Workday Financials and payer financial reporting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead core financial system processes within Workday, including general ledger, close, payables, and cash functions.
• Ensure accurate financial close, manage the close calendar and resolve issues impacting timelines.
• Manage system enhancements and integrations to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Maintain financial controls, governance, and audit readiness across financial systems.
• Drive change management, including adoption of new features and standardization of processes.
