Job summary

Verily Health is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer for the Workbench team to own complex data-platform problems end-to-end, from discovery to a reliable production solution.

You will design scalable cloud infrastructure on GCP and AWS, mentor others, and collaborate with data scientists to accelerate biomedical research.

Applicants need 8+ years in production software, expert Python, and strong communication; a BS in CS or related field is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing and building production software with deep software design and architecture experience.
• Expert-level Python and fluency in at least one other language.
• Hands-on cloud/platform engineering across GCP and AWS, including IAM, security, networking, IaC, containers, and CI/CD.
• Experience owning ambiguous, high-stakes customer-facing technical work end to end.
• BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the hardest problems end to end, from discovery to a working solution.
• Raise the engineering bar with clean, maintainable tooling and automation.
• Engineer the cloud foundation across GCP and AWS including IAM and security.
• Build at scale with batch workflows and interactive notebooks to process data.
• Partner with customers to analyze needs, recommend implementations, and train users.
