Job summary

Aston Technical Consulting Services, LLC seeks a seasoned Web Designer to manage WordPress sites with a focus on security, backups, and LMS plugin integration. The role requires diagnosing plugin conflicts and maintaining staging workflows to ensure production integrity.

You will document actions and outcomes, with emphasis on live-site reliability and clear communication to stakeholders. References or a portfolio of similar work are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on WordPress experience on live production sites.
• Experience with Wordfence security tools.
• Jetpack backup configuration and restore testing.
• LMS plugin experience (LifterLMS/LearnDash or similar) preferred.
• Comfortable diagnosing plugin/theme conflicts without adding new code.
• Familiar with staging/sandbox workflows and documentation of actions.
• References or a portfolio of maintenance/security work.

Responsibilities

• Produce a current sitemap of the live site and flag orphaned/duplicate pages.
• Configure and verify periodic automated backups using Jetpack, including a test restore.
• Audit the site for security (Wordfence configuration, user permissions, login security, update status) and provide written, prioritized recommendations.
• Identify and resolve plugin conflicts.
• On staging/sandbox site: remove links and disable flagged custom code for isolated testing.
• Install, configure, and sandbox-test the LifterLMS plugin and confirm compatibility with our theme and plugins.
