Ashton North LLC is seeking a Senior Women’s Technical Outerwear Designer with 7+ years of hands-on experience in performance and outdoor outerwear. The role focuses on translating design concepts into technically sound jackets, combining fit, fabrication, insulation, and functional components with a feminine, commercial aesthetic.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on Women’s Outerwear design experience
• Strong understanding of jacket engineering and construction
• Knowledge of women’s fit, proportion, silhouette, fabrication, insulation and functional components
• Ability to merge technical functionality with feminine design and commercial appeal
• Strong understanding of cost engineering and collaboration with manufacturing to achieve target costs
• Strong commercial and market awareness from trend research
• Hands-on AI proficiency for design, research, visualization and product development
• Portfolio demonstrating substantial Women’s Outerwear experience with technical construction and finished products

Responsibilities

• Own the creative direction and development of Women’s technical and performance outerwear categories
• Produce technical drawings, detailed tech packs and garment construction details
• Select and apply outerwear materials, insulation systems and trims
• Develop silhouettes balancing fit with technical performance and feminine aesthetic
• Monitor marketplace through trend, consumer and competitive research
• Collaborate with production teams and overseas manufacturing partners on costing and optimization
• Find cost efficiencies while maintaining quality and design intent
• Incorporate AI-powered technology into design and development processes
• Research and evaluate new AI design technologies to improve the process
• Maintain ongoing communication with Merchandising, Production and overseas factories through the lifecycle
