Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking a Senior Architect/Programmer Analyst in the Indianapolis area. You will lead development on critical warehouse and transportation systems, guiding technical decisions while remaining hands-on 40% of the time.

You will work with operations stakeholders to modernize legacy PowerBuilder interfaces toward .NET/C# and React, and help plan a TMS transition without disrupting daily operations. The role is hybrid, onsite in Greater Indianapolis.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in warehouse/transportation tech with hands-on development.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory movement, and shipping.
• Experience with a TMS implementation, replacement, migration, or major integration.
• Proficient in SQL Server and T-SQL; able to optimize queries.
• Hands-on C#/.NET development experience maintaining enterprise apps.
• Ability to lead technical decisions and mentor others while keeping operations available.
• Willingness to commute to the greater Indianapolis area and work onsite.
• Experience upgrading legacy systems and modernizing interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and hands-on development for warehouse and transportation apps.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Guide modernization of legacy PowerBuilder interfaces toward .NET/C# and React.
• Evaluate and lead a TMS transition, maintaining or migrating as needed.
• Manage integration requirements, data flows, testing, and migration planning.
• Design, develop, and maintain backend functionality, business logic, and integrations.
• Develop and optimize stored procedures and database logic.
• Improve source control, testing, documentation, code review, and release practices.
• Document architecture and share knowledge with other developers.
