Job summary

TÜV SÜD seeks a Senior RF/Wireless Engineer to support wireless certification, regulatory compliance, and testing for connected products in the San Diego area. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful certification outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or closely related field with 5+ years of hands-on experience.
• Experience with PTCRB certification, cellular RF testing, FCC and ISED requirements, and RSE.
• Strong understanding of RF fundamentals, wireless technologies, transmitter/receiver performance, and measurement techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform wireless certification, regulatory compliance, and carrier acceptance testing according to PTCRB, GCF, FCC, ISED, 3GPP, ETSI, and carrier requirements.
• Conduct cellular RF conformance and performance testing across GSM, WCDMA, LTE, LTE-Advanced, 5G NR, and emerging wireless technologies.
• Perform Radiated Spurious Emissions (RSE), transmitter, receiver, and other RF performance measurements.
• Develop and review test plans, procedures, configurations, technical reports, and certification documentation.
• Analyze test results, troubleshoot RF and certification failures, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Configure and operate cellular communication testers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, RF power meters, and related laboratory equipment.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and technicians and support laboratory quality, process improvement, and new test capability development.
