Job summary

TÜV SÜD America Inc. in San Diego is seeking a Senior RF/Wireless Engineer to support wireless certification, regulatory compliance, cellular RF, and carrier acceptance testing for connected products.

You will provide technical expertise across complex wireless programs while partnering with customers, laboratory teams, project management, and commercial teams to ensure successful certification outcomes. The role requires hands-on testing across GSM, LTE, 5G NR, and related technologies with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field with 5+ years hands-on experience, or Master's with 3+ years.
• Experience with PTCRB certification, cellular RF testing, FCC and ISED requirements, and RSE.
• Strong RF fundamentals and measurement techniques.
• Experience with the listed test platforms or equivalent systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, data analysis, technical writing, and customer communication skills.
• ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory experience; automation tools (Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform wireless certification, regulatory compliance, and carrier acceptance testing per PTCRB, GCF, FCC, ISED, 3GPP, ETSI, and carrier requirements.
• Test cellular RF across GSM, WCDMA, LTE, LTE-Advanced, 5G NR, and emerging technologies.
• Perform Radiated Spurious Emissions (RSE) and RF performance measurements.
• Develop and review test plans, procedures, configurations, reports, and certification documentation.
• Analyze results, troubleshoot failures, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Configure and operate cellular testers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, RF power meters and related lab equipment.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and support lab quality and new test capabilities.
