Job summary

Viasat in Carlsbad, CA is seeking a Wire Harness Designer to design cables and harnesses for aviation and space products. You will generate wire lists, assembly drawings, specify connectors and wires, and collaborate with systems, electrical, test and operations engineering teams to ensure a quality, manufacturable product.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in aerospace/space, an AS in technology or equivalent, proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD tools, and solid knowledge of

Qualifications

5+ years of related experience in aviation and/or space applications.
Associate of Science Degree in technology or proven work experience
Strong practical experience with SolidWorks, or other CAD based wire harness design tools.
Strong understanding of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and electrical schematics
US citizenship required
Up to 15-20% travel

Responsibilities

Generate sophisticated cable and harness design packages for aviation and space applications
Coordinate with engineering groups to identify design features and challenges
Assist programs in identifying critical components and design features and challenges

Skills

Strong written and verbalcommunication
