Job summary

Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking a Senior Windows Systems Administrator to support classified enterprise IT services in Laurel, MD. You will administer and modernize enterprise Windows environments, manage Exchange Server, and uphold RMF/ STIG compliance for mission-critical operations.

The role requires ten-plus years of Windows Server experience, strong PowerShell automation, and a TS/SCI+poly clearance.

Qualifications

Ten or more years of hands-on Windows Server administration in an enterprise environment.
Five or more years in on-premises Exchange Server administration with operational reliability.
Advanced experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and virtualization tech.
Experience implementing MFA solutions, including RSA SecurID.
PowerShell scripting and automation with patch management and monitoring.
Experience with DISA STIG requirements and vulnerability remediation.
Active TS/SCI+poly security clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

Administer and maintain enterprise Windows infrastructure (Server, AD, DNS, DHCP, PKI).
Manage on-prem Exchange Server including upgrades and reliability.
Oversee authentication services, MFA integrations, and security patching.
Lead modernization initiatives and migrations for OS and Exchange Server.
Automate operations and improve monitoring and patch management.
Support RMF requirements, continuous monitoring, and SOP documentation.
Provide technical leadership and mentor other admins.
