Senior Wind Technician

Location(s): Pipestone, MN, US, 56164

Start Date: As soon as possible, full-time, permanent

Functional Area: Operations & Maintenance

Remuneration: Non-Exempt

Role Overview

As Senior Wind Farm Technician, you will support the operations and maintenance of wind farms to ensure safety and maximize availability. Responsibilities include scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, training, safety exercises, and maintaining tools and equipment. You will provide technical guidance to the O&M team and maintain records of service activities.

Responsibilities

1. Perform all operations and maintenance activities safely, following policies and procedures.
2. Conduct acceptance and performance tests on systems post-maintenance or outages.
3. Assist with turbine maintenance, including major component work and troubleshooting.
4. Support Balance of Plant procedures, including substation and collection system maintenance.
5. Uphold company values and behaviors.
6. Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in power generation, with at least 4 years in wind turbines.
• Experience with Gamesa, GE, and Vestas turbines preferred.
• Technical degree or military experience in electrical, electronics, or mechanical fields is a plus.
• Licenses or certifications such as Journeyman, Master Electrician, or Wind Tech Certificate are advantageous.
• Unrestricted driver license in good standing.
• Willingness to relocate within 1 hour of the site.
• Strong technical, leadership, and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to climb wind towers and work in confined, swaying spaces.
• Ability to lift tools and equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Capability to work in extreme environments and long hours.
