Job summary

EDP Renewables in Houston, TX is seeking a Sr Power and Performance Improvement Engineer to improve availability, efficiency, and reliability of our wind and solar fleet. Based in Houston, the role will coordinate cross‑functional teams and drive performance improvements across EDPR’s North American assets.

Responsibilities include RCA, standardization of ops, and leading retrofit trials to boost turbine performance and reliability, with frequent travel to sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s degree desirable.
• 5-7 years of experience in a related field or 2-3 years with a Master’s degree.
• Experience with wind turbine systems and/or solar operations preferred but not required.
• Analytical problem solving, strong communication, and customer/partner relationships valued.

Responsibilities

• Improve wind turbine and solar site performance by providing recommendations regarding availability, production, and reliability issues to EDPR personnel.
• Lead the standardization of operations, maintenance, and engineering processes.
• Manage cross-platform initiatives between European and North American fleets.
• Collaborate with engineering and technical support, reliability engineers, and site operations teams.
• Conduct root cause analysis of turbine, inverter and panel faults with the Reliability team.
• Lead retrofit trials to improve turbine performance and validate changes on technical and commercial aspects.
