Job summary

EDP Renewables is seeking a Sr Power and Performance Improvement Engineer in Houston, TX to enhance the availability, efficiency, and reliability of the wind and solar fleet. You will provide broad technical support, standardize operations, and drive performance improvements across the EDPR portfolio.

Responsibilities include leading cross-functional initiatives, conducting root cause analyses, and coordinating with internal and external teams to implement fleet-wide improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar; Master’s preferred.
• 5–7 years in related field (or 2–3 with Master’s).
• Experience with wind turbine systems and/or solar operations preferred; strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Improve wind turbine and solar site performance by addressing availability, production, and reliability issues.
• Lead standardization of operations, maintenance, and engineering processes.
• Manage cross-platform initiatives between European and North American fleets.
• Coordinate with engineering, reliability engineers, and site operating personnel.
• Conduct root cause analysis of turbine, inverter, and panel faults with the Reliability team.
• Lead retrofit trials to improve turbine performance and validate changes.
