Job summary

GE Vernova International LLC's Power Performance team seeks an Engineer to contribute to power curve testing and system-level power performance simulation. The role blends field testing with integrated power curve modeling, drawing on aerodynamic, electrical, controls, and other sub-systems.

You will work autonomously on deliverables, participate in technical reviews, and collaborate with cross-functional teams under the Power Performance Leader in Wind Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of time.

Responsibilities

• Execute power curve simulations per design practice with autonomy.
• Support technical and design reviews and the commercial release process.
• Perform model validation and verification with guidance.
• Apply understanding of atmospheric science and test data implications on simulation accuracy and precision.
• Elevate improvement recommendations.
• Apply IEC test standards and GE-specific test requirements.
• Demonstrate familiarity with various power curve test methods and their applicability, including site calibration methods.
• Execute contractual power performance tests from planning through final reporting.
• Analyze power curve test data; relate to MPPT, terrain assessment, and risk calculations.
• Contribute to root cause analyses of field performance anomalies.
• Apply understanding of turbine controls and operability.
• Maintain and improve analysis tools with MATLAB and Python.
• Contribute to lessons learned, best practices, and standardization of engineering workflows.
