Job summary

ERG is a research and consulting firm that supports federal, state, and commercial clients. We are seeking a senior environmental professional to lead 404 permit work under the Clean Water Act, drafting permits and advising on regulatory strategy.

You will manage projects, collaborate with agencies including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, provide training and templates, and help clients achieve implementation goals with strong writing and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in environmental, civil, or water resources engineering, or natural science from an accredited college.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with Clean Water Act 404 permitting and implementation.
• Familiarity with NEPA, Endangered Species Act, Rivers and Harbors Act.
• Experience with 404 permit writing and rules development.
• Experience coordinating with US Army Corps of Engineers and other agencies.
• Strong project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients and ERG teams to implement 404 requirements.
• Draft 404 permits or similar state permits for discharge of dredged material.
• Manage projects including staffing, scheduling, and budgeting.
• Develop training/tools/templates to enable clients to implement goals.
• Support regulatory development, including rule development and economic analyses.
• Build relationships with state and federal customers.
