Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Wet Process Equipment Engineer for solar cell manufacturing in Starlink. You will own wet processing hardware, drive uptime, and scale tools to support huge production demand.

You will collaborate with process and facilities teams to optimize equipment availability and performance in a fast-paced environment. The role requires deep hands-on experience with chemical texturing, preclean tools, and high-volume semiconductor/solar manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline relevant to chemical process equipment
• 5+ years owning and maintaining chemical process equipment in high-volume manufacturing
• Experience handling hazardous chemicals and gases safely

Responsibilities

• Install, qualify, maintain, and improve high-throughput texturing and preclean equipment
• Drive equipment reliability and uptime for large-scale production
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies and parts programs
• Lead root cause analysis on equipment issues including chemical delivery systems and robotics
• Collaborate with Process Engineers to implement new process requirements
• Evaluate next-generation equipment for 1GW+ scale production
• Work with vendors on design improvements and custom solutions
• Establish performance metrics and SPC for hardware stability
• Ensure compliance with cleanroom, safety, and high-reliability standards
• Analyze production processes from first principles to inform decisions
• Communicate factory state to leadership in meetings
