Job summary

SpaceX in Texas seeks a Sr. Wet Process Equipment Engineer to own the chemical processing hardware used in silicon solar cell production at scale for Starlink.

You’ll partner with process teams to maximize tool uptime, reliability, and capacity while ensuring safety and cleanroom standards. Responsibilities include installing, qualifying, maintaining high-throughput texturing and preclean tools, leading maintenance programs, analyzing data, and coordinating with vendors to push 1GW+ per tool

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (engineering/science).
• 5+ years owning and maintaining chemical process equipment in high-volume manufacturing.
• Experience handling flammable, toxic, corrosive, hazardous chemicals safely.

Responsibilities

• Install, qualify, maintain, and improve high-throughput texturing and preclean equipment for silicon solar cell production.
• Drive equipment reliability and uptime to support large-volume production with minimal downtime; analyze data to improve capacity and reduce variation.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, spare parts programs, and tool matching for high-volume manufacturing.
• Lead root cause analysis on equipment issues including chemical delivery systems, pumps, filtration, and automation.
