Hydrasearch is seeking a Senior / Principal Welding Process Engineer in Stevensville, MD to lead welding process development for aerospace, naval, and defense programs. You will be a senior technical contributor, developing welding capabilities, procedures, and qualifications in a regulated environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on process development, rapid cycles of validation, and production transition, balancing speed with technical rigor to ensure compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in welding or related engineering field.
• 10+ years in welding engineering or process development in compliant manufacturing environments.
• Extensive experience qualifying welding procedures and developing welder certification programs.
• Thorough understanding of AS9100 special process requirements.
• Experience with NAVSEA welding standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and solve manufacturing capability gaps in welding and joining.
• Drive rapid cycles of welding procedure development and qualification (WPS, PQR, WPQ).
• Interpret and apply AWS, ASME, NAVSEA welding requirements.
• Provide input to ensure manufacturability and minimize rework.
• Support development of welding and tube joining processes and transition to production.
